Here's an idea of what exactly this cockpit looks like. It's reduced quality because I shrunk it, but you'll get a look at some full quality screenshots of mine later on in the screenshots section. This screenshot reminds me of something. See the smoke trail on that AIM-120? This isn't even the beginning of F/A-18's graphical strength, effects.

Have a look at the MiG-29 kill I was getting in that cockpit shot. The first little pic is the same missile release from the outside, a little sooner after release. The next pic is obviously the result of that release, and as you can see, that pilot is having a hell of a time recovering from that. Notice the ejection seat, the white streak with the black dot going the opposite direction of that flaming hulk of a fulcrum. Impressive, no?

Again, a before and after shot. First, here I am releasing a 2000 lb. Mk-84 conventional bomb. Then we see the pretty little factory as my bomb demolishes it. Everything from the shockwave to the dust cloud to the fragmentation is accurately depicted here as this munitions factory becomes a crater. notice how the smokestack, the pile of rubble on the left above the large warehouse, has been reduced to slag by the blast!
