We Have Switched Servers!

Hello, everyone. We have switched web hosts, and the site is now hosted by Ventures Online, a highly reputable web hosting company. It is conceivable we may have some problems with the switch, however unlikely, and so we ask you to bear with us if the site temporarily goes down, there are broken links, or images are missing, etc.

Thanks!

The switch of servers was a good call....this one is much faster in my view!! I still need to get rid of this dial up though.

I have dialup too, but I think the sever makes much more of a difference for us than it does for those of you who have DSL or something, and the load is a matter of 1 or 2 seconds. It's a big improvement for me!

My ISP keeps saying DSL isn't available in my neighborhood. Broadband is though, maybe I should look into that.

last time i checked....it was not to much more to get the cable or dsl. It was $10 or so more.....but the SPEED is what i want. Especially if i want to download anything of considerable size.

Instead of taking an hr or more for a very large file, it would only be a few minutes.

That's not really the big advantage to cable/dsl. The big advantage is the fact that it's always on, so your computer is connected to the internet all the time. There's no waiting for the screeching to stop. I've had cable for just over a year now, and I couldn't go back!

Indeed, but if you do that with an analogue modem, you tend to miss the busy signals! Much the best way to get rid of the screeching is to get rid of the analogue modem!

My wife used to be chatting to her Mum, and replying to her e-mail at the same time. Then she'd hit Send/Retrieve, and have to explain to her Mum why the computer was trying to make a call!
