Garmin gps

I have a Garmin Street pilot III gps, which is primarily designed to work on the raods.

There is method by which one can use an Ipaq to work as an aviation gps.

Is it possible to use the above as an aviation gps? Has anyone the experience of converting the unit with any software, and where and how one can get the software?

I would appreciate friends comments on this.

Many thanks,
